Vera Blossom is a writer. Born in the suburbs of San Francisco, forged in the Las Vegas desert, and shaped on the internet. Informed by her experience as a transgender Filipino-American, she explores empathy with nature, contemporary spirituality, cyclicity, and the erotic. She works to directly counter forces of ever-creeping white christian authoritarianism in her newsletter, HOW TO FUCK LIKE A GIRL, in which she writes about hunger, pleasure, sex, and gender with humor, frankness, and explicit detail. She is the co-founder of SNACK REPORT a food blog that explores ritual, friendship, and feeling. She is at work on her first book.✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹In 2021, she helped produce Black Mountain Radio, an artist-driven, community-focused audio project published in collaboration with Black Mountain Institute and the Believer magazine. In 2022 she was associate producer on Season 2 of The Anti-Trans Hate Machine which focused on the disinformation ecosystem constructed by the Christian Nationalist movement. ✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹ She is a producer and co-owner of Your Magic, a mystical tech company that produced a Spotify Original podcast of the same name and is currently developing a mobile-native tarot app. ✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹✹ In 2023 she was selected as an AF Weekly Fellow and a 2023 PEN America Emerging Voice.
